Character Background: An American Standardbred stallion, "Moon-Shadow" was born in 1883 and raised to be either a show-horse or personal mount of a member of the New York or Boston Elite. Standing a massive seventeen hands high and of an impressive build, he bears a bright reddish-brown coat and carries himself with the aristocratic bearing of a purebred never intended for racing or labour.

Moon-Shadow was born on a farm in the Miskatonic River Valley of Massachusetts and was sold to Judge Pickman in Boston shortly before the Judge's death in 1889, before the Judge could take possession of the 5-year-old stallion. A dispute over payment between the breeder and the Judge's estate ended with the sale being voided and Moonshadow being stabled with a horse-dealer on the outskirts of town. Here, Moon-Shadow was spotted by the Japanese strong-arm turned space-adventurer, Daisuke Hana. The two felt the instant bond of kinship that only bold and charismatic spirits can feel for one another and quickly became the best of friends.
